Soccer Photos of the Week

This weekend had a mix of grey overcast skies and rain and spectacularly beautiful New England autumn sun! I just got my 70-200mm lens back from Canon repair so I got a chance to try it out on the cloudy day. I also spent a little more time positioning myself in different locations in order to catch more midfield acrobatics and keeper action. Here are the results.

Pick #1

Description

This first pick was from one of those cloudy day shoots. I rarely see a keeper turn his back on an opposing player. Of course, this mistake resulted in a goal for our team. As for the shooting conditions, I have my D60 set up with User Mode 1 and forgot to change the aperture to f/2.8 – duh.

Through the hands – every keeper’s nightmare. This game was very dark with clouds and rain and late in the afternoon.  Again, I forgot to set my aperture to f/2.8.
