No, they are not too heavy, I'll post some weights later when I dig them out. For one thing, the spool hub is Delrin and that compensates for the brass. Also, the brass is relatively thin 0.032". The brass rocks! How is it weight-wise? I am using 6061-T6 aircraft tooling plate aluminum laser cut straight from my Rhino drawings.. Here is a shot of the reels that I am developing based on traditional Japanese family crests which are mainly in the round and centrally symmetrical with 5 - 7 spoke patterns.
