I’ll be posting how I created the ePub version of The Reelsmith’s Primer in a future post but it’s done and now published on iBooks! I used this experience to really dig in and understand the electronic publishing process from start to finish. I began with my original manuscript (in Apple’s Pages format) and converted it to ePub with Sigil. I got my iPhone 4 the day it came out – replacing my iPhone 3GS, which replaced my iphone 3G, which replaced my original iPhone (see a pattern here?). With each iPhone, the camera has improved markedly. The camera in the new iPhone 4 is really nice, well, both of them are! There is the standard camera on the back-side of the phone and the iPhone 4 introduces a front-side camera for videoconferencing and taking photos of yourself.

Well, I just had to get the new iPhone 3G S. I’ve been an iPhone fanatic since the original came out 2 years ago. Last year, I upgraded to a 16 GB 3G and loved it. The GPS feature has been great. Well, when I heard that the 3G S has a 3 megapixel camera AND a video camera, along with a real compass, I just had to have one. In addition, the 3G S is supposed to be 2X faster than the 3G.

I got an email from AT&T on Thursday announcing that AT&T is giving US iPhone users (i.e. AT&T subscribers) free access to AT&T’s Wifi Hotspots. Thank-you AT&T! I’ve already used it in Starbucks, a B. Dalton book store, and my local supper market! Here is the directory of Hotspots.

My cousin-in-law celebrated her 50th birthday in Boston last week. She lives in San Francisco and is a flight attendant for United but she grew up in Massachusetts. She just happened to have a layover in Boston, so she invited family and friends on a sunset cruise of Boston Harbor. Normally. Let me start with the AOL Radio app. This is a little gem and it is free too! Basically, it plays over 200 CBS owned radio stations from across the USA. The song’s title, artist and album artwork are displayed if available. You can browse by Stations, tag Favorites, look at Recent stations or songs and browse local based on your location. I got my first iPhone when they were released in July of 2007. The experience was extraordinarily pleasant for a cell phone purchase. I walked in to my local Apple Store at the Burlington Mall, there was no line, bought the phone, and left for home in less than 5 minutes. I just installed the WordPress app on my iPhone. Now I can blog from anywhere! The app also integrates with the iPhone’s photo album to upload photos. Too bad it doesn’t use the geoservices to locate the blog entry.
