Photography
I love digital photography! Back in the old days, I used to do a fair amount of darkroom work – B&W prints, Ektachrome slides and even Cibachrome color prints. Boy those chemicals stank! One little mistake and an hour of work was instantly ruined. When Photoshop came on the scene in the late 80′s I immediately jumped on board and haven’t looked back! The panorama above is a high speed sequence of 5 frames stitched together in Photoshop. Total time to complete: 10 minutes. In the darkroom, this would have taken hours.
I photograph most everything – and a lot of my hobbies get photographed – but I really shoot A LOT of youth soccer games and I seem to constantly discover new tricks and techniques to improve my photos. I’ve written a series of “Guides” that have tips for youth soccer photography and details on how I shoot and post-process 1000s (literally) of photos every weekend. Here they are:
“Practical Guide for Youth Soccer Photography – Part A – General Tips“
“Practical Guide for Youth Soccer Photography – Part B – Equipment & Techniques“
“Practical Guide for Youth Soccer Photography – Part C – Post-production Techniques“
Photos of the Week
I also post my photos of the week – normally, this is one shot from each game that stood out for some reason. Click “Photos of the Week” to see them all.
